WHAT IS THE MANNA PROGRAM? A Simple Explanation of the Manna Program The St. Christina Manna Program purchases gift cards / certificates at a discounted price from a variety of participating vendors. The Program then offers for sale the gift cards / certificates at face value. When you purchase gift cards / certificates from the Manna Program, part of the original discount is given to you (or someone you designate) in the form of a tuition credit and part of it goes to St. Christina School. What is the benefit of participating in the Manna Program? When you participate in Manna, two parties benefit: you earn a tuition credit and St. Christina School receives a financial benefit which helps keep tuition costs down. Families who participate in Manna have saved over $300 a year in tuition costs. You participate as much or as little as you want. There are no contracts or minimums. All it takes is a little planning on your part to buy Manna before shopping! How much money can I really save? It depends on how much you buy. Below is an example of how much you would save on a purchase. Please note that the Manna Company from which the St. Christina Manna Program purchases gift cards / certificates charges a 1% administrative fee on all purchases. Local businesses do not charge the Program an administrative fee. Jewel and Dominick's (5%) $100 gift card Your tuition credit = $2.50 School credit = $1.50 Administrative fee = $1 Family Pride and County Fair (5%) $100 gift card w/no admin fee Your tuition credit = $2.50 School credit = $2.50 115 Bourbon Street (15%) $20 gift card w/no admin fee Your tuition credit = $1.50 School credit = $1.50 Burger King and Wendy's (5%) $20 gift card Your tuition credit = 50¢ School credit = 30¢ Administrative fee = 20¢ Speedway Gas (5%) $100 gift card Your tuition credit = $2.50 School credit = $1.50 Administrative fee = $1.00 Kmart and Wal-Mart (3%) $50 gift card Your tuition credit = 75¢ School credit = 25¢ Administrative fee = 50¢ So for this one week, you purchased $390 dollars in Manna and will receive a $10.25 tuition credit. If you purchased the same amount of Manna every week for a year, your tuition savings would be $533.00. Thus, you earn a substantial tuition discount just by purchasing Manna to pay for your regular daily expenses. As you can see, the more Manna you buy the more you save. Moreover, the Manna Program offers gift cards / certificates from over 100 vendors. What forms of payment does the Manna Program accept? The Program accepts either cash or check for payment - no credit cards. I heard I can pay some credit balances with Manna Currently, you can purchase Manna to make payments on your Kohl's and JCPenney credit cards. Payments on credit balances can be made with Manna gift cards at the store's customer service desk. When will I receive my tuition credit? Manna tuition credits will be credited to your September 2009 tuition payment. The credit is accumulated based on Manna purchased between July 1, 2008 and June 30, 2009. Tuition credit accumulated for Manna purchased after July 1, 2009 will be applied toward your September 2010 tuition balance. Anytime your Manna credit exceeds the amount of your September tuition payment, the remainder will be applied to successive payments until used in full. Can this program be used for high school or college tuition? Another way to take advantage of this program is to use it to pay for high school or college tuition. If you have a child in high school or college and have no children attending St. Christina School, then any purchases you make will accumulate tuition credit that can be applied toward high school or college tuition. In August of 2009, you would receive a check in the amount of your Manna tuition credit made payable to the school your child is attending. The high school/college option is available to any family who wishes to participate. What if my student transfers to another parochial or private school? Should your student transfer to another school and all tuition due to St. Christina is paid in full, your accumulated credit can be transferred to the new parochial or private school. You also have the option of transferring your credit to another St. Christina School family's account. If you cannot use the credit at the new school and you do not transfer it to another family's account, your tuition credit will be forfeited and remain in the Manna account. This program does not allow us to personally reimburse you for any accumulated credit. The credit can only be used toward tuition or as revenue for the Manna Program. Can others buy Manna for me? Yes, your parents, siblings, neighbors, etc., may buy Manna as part of your order or at the rectory during sales hours. To ensure proper credit, they must include your name on the Manna order form. What if I wish to place a large Manna order? We carry most of our inventory in groceries, gas, Kohl's and local businesses (115 Bourbon Street, Beggars Pizza, Chi Tung, etc.). We usually have a few hundred dollars worth of Manna in those businesses mentioned. However, if you wish to purchase, for example, $500 in Menards or $200 in Olive Garden - businesses that the Manna Program may not carry in large inventory quantities - you must pay for your purchase in advance (by Monday) to receive the order by the following Wednesday. How do I order certificates? Currently, Manna can be sent thru school or dropped-off at the rectory. The envelope should be marked MANNA and include payment. Orders will be filled and may be picked-up during Manna hours. Manna is available at the rectory on Thursday and Friday from 1:30-2:30pm. It is also available in the evening on Wednesdays from 5:30-6:30pm. |

Offered in a $25 gift card at a 5% discount. (2.5 for school and 2.5 for family). The Manna Group welcomes The Children's Place gift cards to our program. Offered in a $25 gift card at a 10% discount. (5% for St. Christina and 5% for family credit).
