The St. Christina Difference
What sets one school apart from another and makes it “better” will vary from one person to another. . . and the things that matter change over time as the lives of families and children unfold. But, one thing we know for certain is that the “things” that matter. . . really matter! So, whether it is classroom size, faculty credentials, Catholic identity, high school placement, a presence of the arts, having the best in technology, athletic teams, or just the fact that the school is close to home. . . these “things” matter to us as well! To us, faith, academics, community and spirit define our tradition and our sense of mission.
The greatest evidence we have of our St. Christina difference is our graduates. We are fortunate that our eighth graders generally attend the high schools of their choice and that they often place into the honors level coursework. And while St. Christina may only be an elementary school, we know from our graduates that what they learn in their years with us will stay with them for a lifetime. Our alumni visit campus regularly to tell us how well they are doing in high school, or they may even stop in before they head off to college — all to share their successes and gratitude. Once a Cardinal, always a Cardinal!
During a student’s elementary experience, we hope they will come to know themselves with a deep appreciation for their talents and an understanding of how they can make a difference — whether it is a leadership role they will have in high school or their eventual desire they have to earn an advanced degree. But most importantly, we consider ourselves successful if we have deepened a student’s relationship with God and untapped their willingness to engage in a life of service and love of humanity.
